Members of the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 2020-05 have ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Vale. This agreement, which ensures labor stability, will run until October 26, 2029, covering a significant portion of Vale's workforce.
The new contract includes a five-percent wage increase in the first year, followed by three-percent increases in each of the subsequent three years. Additionally, members will receive a $3,500 signing bonus within four weeks of the ratification.
Key provisions of the agreement also include significant pension gains, stronger health and safety measures, and new protections designed to ensure fairness in the workplace. This settlement provides clarity on labor costs and fosters a stable working environment for Vale's operations.
