Viking Holdings Ltd announced today the delivery of two new river vessels, the Viking Honir and the Viking Thoth. The Honir, a 190‑guest Longship with 95 staterooms, will operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, while the Thoth, an 82‑guest ship with 41 staterooms, will sail the Nile on the popular Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. Both ships feature Viking’s signature Scandinavian design, a square bow, three full decks and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace.
The Honir will spend its inaugural year sailing high‑profile itineraries such as Passage to Eastern Europe, Rhine Getaway and Christmas on the Rhine, expanding Viking’s presence in central Europe. The Thoth will join the existing fleet of Nile vessels, adding capacity to the highly profitable Pharaohs & Pyramids route and reinforcing Viking’s dominance in the Nile market. These additions increase overall fleet capacity and provide new revenue opportunities in two of the company’s most lucrative river segments.
Viking’s long‑term growth strategy calls for the delivery of 23 additional river ships by 2028 and 10 ocean ships by 2031. The delivery of Honir and Thoth aligns with this plan, boosting capacity, enhancing booking visibility, and supporting the company’s high occupancy and yield targets. For investors, the new vessels represent a tangible step toward sustaining Viking’s premium pricing power and expanding its market share in key river markets.
