VSee Health, Inc., in collaboration with the Kwajalein Atoll Local Government and Kwajalein Atoll Sustainability Laboratory, successfully demonstrated a telehealth initiative on July 25, 2024. This project aims to improve healthcare access for Marshallese veterans who served in the US military and residents of the Kwajalein Atoll.
The initiative leverages Starlink satellite technology and VSee Health’s telemedicine solution to provide virtual doctor consultations aboard a boat ambulance. The VSee Telemedicine Kit, including a laptop with plug-and-play digital medical devices such as a USB stethoscope, otoscope, and ECG monitoring, was used for live-streaming medical data to remote physicians.
The demonstration showcased the ease of use of VSee solutions, with two freshmen American Coast Guard Academy cadets performing a remote physical exam and consultation after less than 30 minutes of training. This project addresses the unique healthcare challenges of remote Kwajalein Atoll, where many outer islands lack access to trained health personnel.
