Tembo e‑LV entered into a definitive agreement with Associated Vehicle Assemblers Ltd. (AVA) to distribute, assemble and service its electric utility vehicles across Kenya, Tanzania and other East African nations.

The agreement includes establishing a local office and a mobile technical support network, upskilling local technicians and engineers, and creating jobs, positioning Tembo as a key player in Kenya’s transition to sustainable mobility.

AVA, East Africa’s largest vehicle assembler, holds IATF16949 certification and has built vehicles for Toyota, Fuso, Hino, Volvo, Scania, Tata and Mahindra. The partnership gives Tembo access to AVA’s established manufacturing and supply‑chain capabilities.

The deal expands Tembo’s reach into a 500‑million‑person market and supports VivoPower’s broader strategy to grow its electric‑vehicle business in emerging regions. Tembo, acquired by VivoPower in 2020, has diversified its product line to include the Tusker fully electric utility vehicle and has entered the Philippine public‑utility‑vehicle market. VivoPower, a certified B Corporation, continues to pursue partnerships that advance its sustainability goals.
