Willis Lease Finance Corporation (WLFC) announced today that its subsidiary, Willis Sustainable Fuels (UK) Limited, has selected Wilton International in Teesside, a site owned and operated by Sembcorp Utilities (UK) Limited, as the location for its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project. The announcement, made on October 2, 2025, marks the first concrete step in the company’s SAF development plan. The Teesside site aligns with WLFC’s broader SAF initiative, which aims to produce 14,000 tonnes of fuel per year by the first quarter of 2028. The location offers proximity to the UK aviation hub and access to existing infrastructure, positioning the project to support airlines seeking low‑carbon alternatives to traditional jet fuel. By expanding into SAF production, WLFC diversifies its revenue streams beyond engine leasing and maintenance services. The move positions the company to capture a growing market segment as airlines intensify efforts to reduce emissions, reinforcing WLFC’s strategic focus on sustainable aviation solutions.
