WesBanco, Inc. announced the appointment of Richard Laws to the role of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel, effective August 18, 2025. Mr. Laws will report directly to WesBanco President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Jackson.
With over 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Laws will lead WesBanco's legal function, providing strategic counsel to the executive team and Board of Directors. His responsibilities include developing and executing the company's legal strategy and coordinating external counsel.
This move to bring legal leadership in-house signifies a strategic evolution for WesBanco, reflecting its growth in scale and complexity following the successful acquisition and conversion of Premier Financial Corp. Mr. Laws previously served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Northwest Bank.
