Watsco, Inc. announced the completion of the acquisition of Southern Ice Equipment Distributors, along with two other transactions, bringing its total acquisitions for 2025 to three companies. Southern Ice, founded in 1984 and based in Lafayette, Louisiana, specializes in food-service and commercial refrigeration equipment, parts, and supplies. It operates seven locations across key Sunbelt markets including Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. These three acquisitions in 2025 collectively add 10 new locations to Watsco's network and contribute approximately $47 million in annualized sales. The strategic expansion provides new brands, broader product offerings, and expanded distribution points, particularly in high-growth Sunbelt markets. Southern Ice will continue to operate under its existing name and leadership team, ensuring continuity for customers, employees, and OEM partners. This move aligns with Watsco's 'buy and build' acquisition strategy, which has seen the company complete 72 acquisitions since 1989. The strategy focuses on integrating entrepreneurial family businesses while leveraging Watsco's technology platforms and financial strength to drive growth. Watsco continues to actively seek additional M&A opportunities to further expand its market leadership.
