ZenaTech, Inc. announced that its subsidiary, ZenaDrone, has applied for a Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Part 137 'Agricultural Aircraft Operations Certification'. This certification will allow the ZenaDrone 1000 to be used for spraying applications in agriculture, including fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
The certification also enables the dual-use of the sprayer attachment for wildfire management, aligning with the company's plans to use drone swarms for commercial purposes. CEO Dr. Shaun Passley highlighted the importance of this certification for establishing US precision agriculture operations, building on prior experience in Ireland.
The US agricultural drone market is valued at $2.74 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $10.45 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 25%. Additionally, the ZenaDrone 1000's application in wildfire management addresses a critical need, with US wildfire devastation costs estimated between $394 billion and $893 billion annually.
