ZenaTech, Inc. announced that its subsidiary, ZenaDrone, has developed and is currently testing a proprietary drone communications management system named 'DroneNet'. This system enables direct and secure drone communications in situations lacking reliable internet, cellular, or satellite connectivity.

The internally developed system is specifically built for use with the company’s ZenaDrone 1000 and IQ series of drone products. CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D., stated that DroneNet will improve the reliability and performance of their drones, reducing dependence on third-party products and enhancing customization and cost management.

Future advancements for DroneNet include developing and testing proprietary microchips with multilayer encryption suitable for NDAA-compliant use, required for US Defense applications. Reliable communications systems are critical for military drones used in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, especially for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
