Albany Graphite Corp., a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Zentek Ltd., reports that its ultrahigh‑purity graphite achieved near‑theoretical anode performance in independent battery testing. The results, obtained from a third‑party laboratory, confirm that the material delivers an average reversible capacity of 367 mAh/g—just 1.3 % below the theoretical maximum of 372 mAh/g for graphite anodes.

The testing also showed that the graphite retains more than 94 % of its capacity after 110–120 cycles, with irreversible capacity loss ranging from 7.0 % to 8.3 %. These figures meet or exceed the industry’s highest standards for next‑generation lithium‑ion battery anodes, indicating that the material can support high‑energy, long‑life battery designs.

By validating the purity and electrochemical performance of its graphite, Albany Graphite positions itself as a potential supplier to battery manufacturers. A successful commercial rollout could create a new revenue stream that offsets the company’s current cash burn and improves its liquidity profile, addressing a key concern for investors who have watched Zentek’s operating losses and accumulated deficit.

Zentek’s financial statements show ongoing losses and a significant accumulated deficit, but the introduction of a high‑performance anode product could shift the company’s balance sheet toward a more sustainable cash flow model. The new product line would diversify revenue beyond Zentek’s existing ZenGUARD antimicrobial coatings and could accelerate the company’s path to profitability.

CEO Greg Fenton said the results confirm the company’s focus on high‑performance anode materials, underscoring Zentek’s commitment to delivering advanced battery components that meet the demands of the growing electric‑vehicle and energy‑storage markets.
