First Citizens Bank & Trust Company announced on Monday, October 27, 2025, that it will purchase a new property at 26 Washington Street in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and redevelop the site into a 15,000‑square‑foot hybrid branch and office space. The new location will replace the bank’s existing branch at 336 Washington Street and is slated for completion in 2028.

The expansion is part of First Citizens’ strategy to strengthen its presence in the Boston market, where it currently operates five branches and serves a growing wealth and business banking client base. The new branch will feature a traditional branch component alongside dedicated meeting spaces designed for the bank’s wealth clients, supporting the firm’s goal of delivering a high‑touch, relationship‑based experience to more than 500 associates and 800 employees across New England.

By adding this new footprint, First Citizens aims to capture additional deposit and loan opportunities in a high‑growth region, enhance client service capabilities, and reinforce its competitive positioning in the Northeast. The 2028 completion target signals a long‑term commitment to the Boston market and is expected to contribute to the bank’s broader growth objectives in the coming years.
